Photography For Magazine And Poster
We previously took pictures dressed up as our characters, they were taken on a green scene with an SLR camera for our Billboard and our Magazine, we used a green screen so we could easily insert a background on Photoshop.

We used this specific location for our soap as we wanted an upper class feel to the soap, which makes it different to Hollyoaks which is what we actually wanted our soap to be aimed at but in a more classier area. We filmed in Alderly Edge which is known for its picturesque scenery which is exactly why we chose this for our set. The name for our soap Hill Top Farm came from the location where we were filming.

Costume Planning
To make sure we know what each other our wearing we drew each character apart from Max because we want him to be wearing just casual clothes like an everyday teenager. From drawing each character and explaining what they were wearing made us get a better understanding of what mise en scene we needed on the set to make these themes stand out.

Story Boarding Hill Top Farm
As a group we sketched out our idea's for our soap trailer this helped us annotate where and how we could produce the idea's.

Soap Opera practice Emma Goldie and Emma Hardy
As a group of 6 we each made a script from an existing soap that had previously been on TV in the week. We cut down the scripts and used the three best and most common story lines and created them as a group in college. We did this to get a better idea of:
- How to use the camera's
- Creating mise en scene
- Acting out scripts
- Setting locations
Once we had filmed each scene we were then introduced into using iMovie on a mac, this also gave us a better idea of how to use iMovie so we can edit at a high standard on our soap trailer.

Ancillary Practice For Eastenders
To understand the conventions of a billboard, i researched into existing billboards, looked at the conventions and what i had to include on the poster to make it look like it was for a soap. I therefore made this mock up billboard for the soap Eastenders.
Eastenders Evaluation
To get a better idea of the conventions in a soap opera i made sure i watched a scene from an existing soap opera that was recently aired on TV. I took print screens while i was watching it and took it into PowerPoint to make annotations and deconstruct the scene i had been watching.
Eastenders Trailer
In this trailer of eastenders we are first introduced to a woman who looks like she tries to make an effort with her appeaerence, she wears a lot of make up and bright clothing which means she's trying that hard it's making her look cheap and tacky. The cheapness is emphasised by the bright lighting on the character we are first introduced too. The scene is then cut to a flashback, we know this as the lighting is dull and is in a sepia tone which makes the audience know this isn't in the present time.
Dallas 2012 Trailer
- Non- diegetic soundtrack creates tension. the music also matches the edits. Soundtrack is also dated to match audience, to recapture audiences that watched dallas when it was first aired.
- Storyline is split into snippets to give audience a preview of what is shown, the clips are introduced by a transition to create more tension.
- Dark lighting creates a sense of a secretive storyline and draws the audience in to make them watch it when Dallas is on air.
- The montage of the trailer shows to the audience the tension between each of these characters and leaves the audience on a cliffhanger at the end
- Dull lighting is shown throughout to show the secretive antics from characters which shows the contrast of the title card "money" this shows that even though they are rich from the oil company it's not always happy.
Dr Who Stop Motion Part 1
In College we were put into a group of 3 to produce a stop motion of the TV program Dr Who, we had to print off our own images and put them into a cardboard set and act out the scene chosen by the group.
Summer Stop Motion Project
Over the summer i created my own stop motion. I researched into existing stop motion's on YouTube so i could make my own original story line to my stop motion. I ended up creating a story line which shows the growth of a flower from being planted to being in full bloom.
